Google and Paid to Blog Sites

Well I have recently learned that Google has decided to lower our page rank if we have disclosure to do with sponsored posts on our blogs. I don't see why they want to do this. We work hard to get our page rank up and i still haven't been able to get mine as high as I'd like. Google!! What are you doing????? I'm sure my readers would like to know.
